Episode 318: Black and White Red Rocket

Original air date: September 7, 2026

Episode overview

Bingo opens what appears to be a normal live Labor Day episode with Auntie Acid, Halfway, Oh Hi!, and a deliberately mangled birthday recording for Josh Seybert. Bingo’s Big Life Pupdates covers the painful first laser-removal session for his old wrist tattoo and tours an apartment overwhelmed by preparations for the Brandywine Festival. Poor Bingo anticipates the emotional crash that may follow months of intensive creative projects, while Cowboy Boy calls from Horse University to report that enchanted beans have turned his life into a cycle of burrowing, garbage-eating, lost time, and inexplicably excellent grades. Naomi Fullblum receives the second Weekly Kewpie Award for sheltering and releasing a stunned yellow warbler named Girlbert.

Bingo Calls the Number learns that Burning Man’s Playa Phone has been packed up for the year. Slim’s Western Pennsylvania Billboard Showcase surveys religious, anti-Muslim, anti-communist, and anti-abortion roadside signs, while Viv’s Canadian Graffiti Showcase collects street art and odd tags from her trip. In I Like That, Bingo repeatedly plays a black cat improvising on a treat-dispensing piano with a jazz trio; Bumper Grumbles then examines Dwibbins’s contradictory Air Force, Navy, and suggestive vanity-plate submission.

After insisting throughout the first half that the show is live—even greeting an imaginary chat—Bingo reveals that everything through Bumper Grumbles was prerecorded earlier that day. He had forgotten the Labor Day show when arranging to see *Coyote vs. Acme*, spent the day constructing the ruse, watched the film, and returned genuinely live to confess. The chat’s early confusion had already become recognition of the trick. Bingo frames the deception as both Bingo’s Biggest Boner and Bingo Got Bullied after friends backed out of the movie plan that caused it; Dwibbins briefly calls with a false claim about posting Bingo’s phone number, then calls back during Rank’em Up Rodeo to admit the joke and discuss Bingo’s tattoo removal and unused creative premises.

Rank’em Up Rodeo returns to Jokermon’s pixel-art adventure and ranks Anorith, Okidogi, Sableye, Spectrier, Bronzong, and Sunkern while Bingo bowls a turkey and feeds Scooty. Dreamy Scenes presents the 1930 all-dog murder mystery *Who Killed Rover?*, whose animal costumes, period filmmaking, racist stereotype, homophobic gag, violence, and bleak ending lead Bingo to declare the installment cursed. Pack Attack accidentally reopens Goofy Shoes’s long-misplaced *Deep Space Nine* cards before opening *Bill & Ted* cards. Name That Name completes the loop by selecting Goofy Shoes from 26 subscribers to win those cards, a Boppy, stickers, Auntie Acid pages, and the episode prize bundle.
